Biography

David Koechner was born on August 24th 1962 in Tipton, Missouri. His family ran a turkey coop manufacturing business.
He is probably best known for his roles in several major movies and TV shows in America.

David studied Political Science but decided to pursue his dream of working in comedy in the 1990’s and moved to Chicago where after working with a few different Theatre companies he landed a role on ‘Saturday Night Live’ this kick started his career in the Entertainment industry and he befriended fellow comedian and actor Will Ferrell and David ‘Gruber’ Allen with whom he later went on to form The Naked Trucker & T-Bones Show. It soon became a huge cult hit at Hollywood clubs like Largo, and the duo were even invited to open for the brilliant comedy rock band Tenacious D (Jack Black and Kyle Gass).

David Koechner’s first big movie role came alongside his friend Will Ferrell in ‘The Anchorman’ in which he played the role of ‘Champ Kind’ this soon opened up many more opportunities for film roles and David has since starred in a wide variety of hit films including: Austin Powers: The spy who shagged me, Thank you for smoking, American Girl and Snakes on a plane to name but a few.

In August 2007 David is set to take on his first ever leading role in ‘The Comebacks’ it is reported to be the first comedy to be released under Fox Searchlight's Fox Atomic division and revolves around the story of a down and out football coach who decides that he is going to turn his luck around with his latest team of miss matched recruits.

David Koechner is happily married to his wife Leigh Koechner; the couple are both in the acting industry and have four children together.
